Helvetica

September 18, 2012

This documentary dovetails with our work regarding usability and design. It’s 81 minutes of designers discussing the typeface Helvetica (it is everywhere): its symbolic, political, historical, and sociological ramifications. Proving, perhaps, that it’s possible to think about some things too much. But, I enjoyed watching. It certainly gives a glimpse into the heads of designers and how they make design choices.

I loved that film. The vitriol of the Helvetica Haters is pretty amazing.
