Great Reading in Popular Physics: My Final Project Topic

March 8, 2012

A very interesting possibility for my final project topic would be “Great Reading in Popular Physics”. This is obviously LIS-oriented, providing information guide for people who are looking for popular physics reading materials. Part of the reason for me to choose such a topic is because I happen to be exposed a lot and have a good informational source on this topic.

My plan would be creating a website with well-organized contents guiding people to find great reading in popular physics. Some of the ideas that occured so far include: two major sections, one for collecting book information (with links to book reviews) and one for collecting online resources;  category list according to the physics subject (e.g. quantum physics, particle physics, relativity, etc); name list for biographic books of great physicists; list of the most popular writers in popular physics; etc. Hopefully there will be enough materials to be organized into a great-looking, high-usability, easy-navigating, and well informative website for my final project.

This idea leads itself perfectly to both this final project as well as a pathfinder.

Quite good, Reader’s Advisory is an excellent praxis and a great subject for a project. I can’t wait to see what you think is required reading as I’m sort of a physics autodidact. Identify an audience, though (reading level, education, etc.).
