CLA Web of Languages Workshop

February 27, 2012

I’m not sure how many of us are from California, but I got an email about the CLA’s Spring Fling events. Right now, they have several events scheduled for April, one for May, and one for June with more programs to be added. For a full list of programs, you can check this website: http://www.cla-net.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=376.

One program that I saw that is pertinent to the context of this class was the “Web of Languages” webinar workshop scheduled for May 30 . It’s a three-hour program with three speakers, including two that will focus on practical examples of several scripts and coding languages, including those that we’re currently learning. The workshop aims to introduce attendees to these technologies to help them understand the possibilities that these languages/scripts can provide in the library setting. The complete description is here: http://www.cla-net.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=381. I figure that this might be useful for anyone who is still a little unsure of the concepts we’re learning or who would like some inspiration on how this stuff can be used.

Just an FYI: I will be one of the presenters at this event. My topic will be AJAX web development.

That’s funny because I was wondering as I was posting it if you were going to be a presenter. 🙂
