Week 10: Codecademy

October 28, 2011

Have you guys seen Codecademy yet?  It’s a free resource designed to teach beginners how to code.  Obviously, we have a head start, but it’s kind of a fun toy to play with if you want to reinforce some of the skills you’ve learned thus far in the semester and maybe pick up a few tricks.  Tutorials are available for basic coding as well as javascript.

Thanks for the tip, Sara. Online education is challenging, as we all know from this program, and I am curious to try this out and see how they make it interactive. I am also curious how much actual content they have on there. They are getting investors and it is unclear where the profit will come from.

    Thanks for sharing this Sara.

I’ve been meaning to look for other ways to continue to practice what we have been learning once this course is over.

Reinforcement of what we have already learned is also key.
I sometimes feel like I need more time with the course concepts to fully understand them.

Thanks for the tip, I always like these extra help sites because I feel so lost sometimes when I am coding!! This site looks very helpful in reinforcing the stuff we have learned and help us go forward in our code learning.
