Web Design Templates…..

October 27, 2011

Hello Everyone!  I wanted to share these two websites for web design templates.  I think you might find it to be a good resource to use.  The website provides hundreds of free online templates for you to select from.  Here’s the site: http://www.oswd.org/.  I also found another great site that offers even more templates to use for your webpage/website.  The link is: http://www.templatemonster.com/category/web-design/.   Both the sites are navigation friendly, offers many selections ranging from various styles and colors, and give thorough details about each template. The only drawback to TemplateMonster is that you have to purchase the templates; which is worth the money (depending on how much you are willing to pay).  I believe these two sites along with all the other wonderful ones provided by fellow classmates will help everyone to breath much easier when creating their own website.  I hope these two sites help.

Hi Mai, I’m glad you brought up CSS design templates! I was also looking at links for these to post, but you beat me to it : )

Open Source Web is a great site. I also found these two, that seem to offer all free templates–they also have good encoding tools:

    http://www.cssportal.com/

And this is a wonderful CSS community that gives some interesting tips:

I really enjoyed checking these websites out and was able to gather some ideas for my own final project. I had no idea that one could buy website design templates! The first source was all website designs for sale, the second had both free downloadable designs and ones for purchase. It’s interesting to see all the variations. The first site had a lot of designs I found very minimalist, which seems to be a trend these days with some websites.

The only problem about buying these templates…. how many others bought it? Unless you change creative on it but defeats the purpose purchasing. I usually do is look for websites I like the structure and build a structure similar to a site I like.

What a cool resource! Even if you don’t buy a template here, this looks like it would be a great place to look for inspiration and ideas. Is it even an option to purchase templates for the final project? It seems like there might be ethical considerations at play here.
