Wendy Hoag – Final Project

March 9, 2011

A couple of vague ideas:

A pathfinder on digital collections.  I created a libguide last semester on this subject.

Something to do with information literacy and students.  This was the focus of a paper last semester.   I found it interesting to see how the expectations that educators had of their students’ information literacy skills differed from the students’ actual skill levels.

Thanks for any suggestions you might make in helping me narrow either of these topics down.

I like the pathfinder to digital collections ideas….to be honest, we were looking for back end solution to our archival system to accommodate various file types including videos and had a hard time finding resources to use for assessment and comparison of various solutions!!!

I like information literacy. My guess is that educators overestimated the students’ abilities. What did your research show? I don’t think there are enough state teaching guidelines or requirements in this area, so instruction varies across grade levels, school districts, etc.

    Ditto on digital collections.
