Michele’s Final Project

March 9, 2010

I’d like to try creating a website for the San Diego SJSU SLIS student group.  Right now we’re using Google Groups but it’s so clunky and there’s not a lot of opportunity for interaction.  Plus, you have to be a member to view it which can be limiting and irritating.

I’d like a section for resources about employment, internship, professional groups, etc; a section for upcoming tours or events; and maybe a calendar of some sort (not sure how that would work).

Something to look into might be usability of Google calendar. I know several people who use that on their site, but I’m not sure of any specific hacks they have to do or not do to get it to show up.

Good idea- we currently use Google Calendar for our events and provide a link to it (they don’t allow it to be embedded in Google Groups- weird). I’m sure there are instructions somewhere out there on the Internets.

    Hey Michele,

Sounds like a great idea. I live in SD too and I am graduating in May, so I would be interested in seeing what you come up with. Best of luck. Rex
