Ben’s Final Project

October 7, 2009

Last week’s table assignment gave me the idea of creating a literary list site. I’m thinking of a site where users can submit literary-based top ten lists (such as top 10 books with protagonists named Jim, top 10 books written by alcoholics, top 10 books to read before turning 40, etc.). I figured it’s fun to make lists and it’s fun to see other peoples’ lists, so why not make a site that satisfies both. Such a site would also spur serendipitous discovery. Especially if you could somehow search for titles and see what types of lists they are included in (might be way over my head, but we’ll see).

Love this idea! I love anything related to books! Opening an avenue for users to submit comments or discuss the books in the lists could be a possibility.

Sounds like a fun site! I would be interested in it, for sure. The concept reminds me of the Top 5 lists in High Fidelity. 🙂

    Ben,

Great. Raymond Carver’s “Will you please be quiet, please” comes to mind. Consider this approved.
